Thanks for this wonderful history! I loved learning about the Dollar Princesses and how their dowry could prop up an aging aristocratic family. Yet, she chose her own way, much like Gladys seems to be doing on The Gilded Age. I think Gladys will forge a true loving partnership with the Duke, much like your family member. I enjoyed reading about her intellectual and spiritual longings, especially this quote "“Decide what your life will be now and don’t look back but forward. Will it be one given to love, kindness, and help? Or to social position alone?”
Thanks for this succinct summary of Albert Sturgis’ life and times.
Seems like a proper biography is in order? Or maybe an audio life story?
Really enjoyed this deeper look into the fascinating Alberta!
