Just One More Sleep
One last note before Christmas arrives
Just one more sleep to go.
The tree is finally up (a slimmer, smaller, lightly underwhelming number this year — but rather chic, I’ve decided). The presents are all wrapped (why do we forget, every year, that this is essentially endurance sport?). Carols are playing — loudly — and I’m about to dive into the kitchen to get supper on the go before someone asks what’s for pudding.
So this is just a quick note from me, before the day truly takes over, to wish you the happiest, cosiest, most joy-filled Christmas tomorrow. Wherever you are, and however you’re celebrating, I hope it’s full of warmth, laughter, good food, and moments that feel properly yours.
And most importantly: it’s Christmas. Perfection is not required. Joy is.
Before I disappear into gravy duties, a small festive nudge: if you’re enjoying being here — the stories, the archives, the glimpses into gilded lives past and present — there’s 20% off an annual subscription right now, which makes a rather lovely Christmas gift (to yourself or someone equally obsessed with history, houses, and beautifully lived lives).
The link is just below, and it’s only here for a little while longer.
Thank you, as ever, for being part of this corner of the internet. It means more than I can say.
Happy, happy Christmas 🎄
xx Julie
