Welcome!

Most of my work follows the American heiresses in the Gilded Age who crossed the Atlantic into what was the Edwardian Era in Britain (early 20th century).

So, when I refer to the Gilded Age in my writings, I’m discussing the same time period in both places—because, for these American ‘Dollar Princesses’, it was still the Gilded Age, indeed.

Where to begin…

Much of the content in this publication is free. Before you jump into a paid subscription, you’ll find many articles that may have been published in other places.

When you’re ready to upgrade, you’ll get access to all of my new writing and research as it’s released.

This new writing will build on my Master’s dissertation about life for American heiresses as they entered into British aristocratic society. We’ll explore social expectation and culture shocks. And we’ll take a closer, never-before-seen look at Alberta’s writings. (Be sure to read the About Page for more on the significance of this Gilded Age heiress in my own life.)

The 400

For the history buffs who want even more, The 400 is a special subscription tier. When you join, you’ll get:

A personal video of welcome and thanks from me!
Your name will be inscribed in a Founders’ Book, which will be preserved in the Mapperton archives and making you part of Mapperton’s history for future generations to find!.
You’ll be invited to virtual private salon-style gatherings with me—intimate conversations where we’ll talk about discoveries, letters, and history.
You’ll be part of an annual virtual supper club, cooking from Alberta’s own recipes and raising a glass to the past together.
✨ I’m cooking up (get it?!) a few other things as well.

This is a circle not of exclusion, but of passion! It’s for history, for heritage, and for preserving stories that might otherwise be lost.

I so hope that you’ll join me there!

I’d love for you to join the journey. Your subscriptions allow me to continue this incredible work of preserving history for generations to come!
